Taking a step in the green direction... As most of you know Rock + Feather is passionate about sustainability. Today we took the first step in becoming a San Francisco Green Business. We filled out the online enrollment form to find out if our business classification qualifies. If so, we begin filling out the relevant "checklist." We are very excited about going through this process, and hope to share some of our journey with you. Check back here for updates!

Happy New Year! What a wonderful year we have to look back on. Thank you to all of you who made it great! 2008 saw a name and branding change, our new website, new clients, and several new partnerships. 2009 is sure to be just as incredible! Currently in the works are an expansion of our website, a workshop series, applying to become a San Francisco Green Business, and hiring more amazing staff. Stay tuned!

A due date! As most of you know, we have a lot of family ties in our company. Laura and Nicole are cousins by marriage, and our stellar Office Manager, Tracey, is Nicole's younger sister. Tracey just announced that she is expecting her third child in early August 2009. This is very exciting news for us here at Rock + Feather! We look forward to announcing the happy news to all of you in the Fall.

End of Year Office Closure: As another stellar year ends, we will again be closing our offices to allow our staff to travel, relax, celebrate, and rejuvenate. Both Rock + Feather offices will be closed from Thursday, December 24 through Friday, January 2. We will resume normal business, ready to rock (+ feather) 2009 with you, on Monday, January 5. From Laura, Kelly, and Nicole, have a very
happy holiday season with your loved ones.

Surf's up! Kelly's first surf lesson was at Pacifica's Linda Mar Beach, and was a big hit. She has been surfing every weekend day since, and spends most of her spare time at sea. (Today, she "totally got chaired"... whatever that means.) Her new obsession has inspired her to get reacquainted with the famously edgy, "surf culture" design.

Happy Birthday, Kelly! Kelly is celebrating another year, and another adventure. She will embark on her first surfing lesson this weekend. Stay tuned for the recap!

We have changed our name! DesignAura is becoming Rock+Feather Graphic Design. This new name was inspired during last Fall’s company-wide intensive. During that time, Nicole and Laura worked together with a wonderful coach, Nikki Anderson, to solidly define how to bring DesignAura to the next level. Out of that experience, Laura and Nicole came to express how they see each other in their partnership. For Nicole, Laura is the reliable foundation; a steady personality with solid talent, like a rock. For Laura, Nicole is the long-term visionary; an inspired personality with a creative eye, like a bird. And, out of those possibilities came our new name. Watch for our complete rebrand in the Spring of 2008 with a new logo, identity, and website.
