Vision. Spirit. Inspiration. Nicole is the feather. After earning her BS in Graphic Design from Drake University (Des Moines, Iowa), Nicole spent seven years working in Madison, Wisconsin’s creative scene. She moved to her beloved San Francisco in 2003, and now lives happily among the faded flower children in the famed Haight-Ashbury neighborhood. She thrives in the collaborative, creative environment like the one she and Laura have made viable through Rock + Feather. Her work is rooted in a midwestern ethic and is guided by the simple principle: “Excellence is in the details”. She is passionate about finding clarity in communication and holds tight the unshakable belief in the power of good design.

Experience. Originality. Strength. Laura is the rock. With a BA in Graphic Design and Photography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Laura spent many years in Chicago honing her skills as a designer with William A. Potter and Associates. In 1997, she made the bold decision to follow the dream, heading west to San Francisco. It was then that she founded DesignAura, the precursor to Rock + Feather, building a strong client base with hard work and integrity. In 2004, after forming a trusted partnership with Nicole, Laura began working remotely from Grenoble, France. Now in Delaware she works closely with the West Coast team of Rock + Feather while maintaining a busy household with her four children and wonderful husband (aka “the Bratt Pack”).

Perspective. Ambition. Flair. Kelly is an integral part of the team. With a Master’s Degree from the Savannah College of Art & Design, Kelly comes to Rock + Feather from North Carolina via the cold winds of bustling Chicago. A true Californian at heart, she brings an outstanding new perspective with a fun, fresh style. Off the set you can catch Kelly exploring the great outdoors while during the week she focuses her creative energy on our San Francisco office. It’s no surprise Kelly’s extensive experience in print design packaged with her passion for innovative solutions will keep your designs at the top of their game. 

Rock + Feather is proud to have exceptional and invaluable resources in the form of an extended network of talented companies and individuals. Tracey Bratt, our Office Manager, and Sandy Johnston, our Accountant, both keep our offices functioning smoothly and on budget. Of special mention are Albino Crow Photography, who captured the dominant images on this site; Kaitlin Kushner, who illustrated the rock and the feather in our logo; and MIGHTYminnow, who did the site development.
